Poca Barta started out under a different name. The original boat was a long slender go fast boat. But as the design evolved I decided to make it comfortable for most paddlers and widened it to increase stability. I worked to keep the resistance relatively low. Strong paddlers will appreciate this and should be able to make a good bit of speed with it. If you are not a fast paddler another way to look at it is your will be able to paddler father at the same speeds you paddle now because you will be putting out less energy to maintain that speed. I think this is going to be fun boat. This boat may feel a little uncomfortable to a new paddler. But after a few paddles you will quickly adjust to it. If you have paddled before you should have no problem with this boat. Many new paddlers paddle Curlew which has similar stability with on problem and most find it stable. Poco Barta has a stability factor of 92. |
