Tangerine

I have been asked about a tandem canoe recently by a couple of people. So I started to think about designing one. My first step is to look in a folder I call the Sand Box. That is where I store files I am ‘playing with’. When I was looking through some caones I have played with in the past I was surprised to find this design. It was basically done and I simple loved the look of it.

Tangerine is a 16 foot tandem canoe. It has a maximum beam of 32″ and with a 400 lb displacement she will draw just under 5″ of water. The gunwales are 12 inches high at the center of the boat.

Tangerine has enough of a ‘V’ in the bow that it should be a stronger tacking back and make for good tracking and well suited for use on a larger bodies of water.

16″ overall length * Beam 32″ * draft at 400 lbs 4.5″
